A Fresh Cup is Mike Gunderloy's software development weblog, covering Ruby on Rails and whatever else I find interesting in the universe of software. I'm a full-time Rails developer and contributor, available for long- or short-term consulting, with solid experience in working as part of a distributed team. If you'd like to hire me, drop me a line. I'm also the author of Rails Rescue Handbook and Rails Freelancing Handbook.

Double Shot #495

Time to get back on the daily sales and marketing wagon. Contract, where are you?

  • Build Guild - Spreading social/technical gathering of web folks. I'd be tempted to start an Evansville/Newburgh chapter if I actually knew any other web folks around here.

  • wikicloth - Mediawiki markup for Ruby.

  • flickr_fu - I may need a flickr interface in Ruby soon. This one looks promising.

You should should check out fleakr (http://github.com/reagent/fleakr/tree/master). It has a wonderful API.

There is a similar event to Build Guild in London called Pub Standards. It just seems to be a little bit more beer centric ;)

I also found Fleakr to be much easier to work with. flickr_fu held no joy, but once I switched to fleakr, the project was done in an hour.

Hey, thanks for the link (Build Guild). As a co-creator of the event, I appreciate seeing the name out on the intertubes. Rock, sir.
