The regex one is good, the problem is that a LOT of their regex's are just plain WRONG.

eg password - stop people using special chars, eg $ or ^? I hope that doesn't get implemented, 'cos it makes passwords LESS secure.

Same with email addys. Would fail on .govt.nz for example (new zealand government) - same in the UK - .govt.uk. Easy to fix, but as it's a "ones you must know", it's way full of bad practices.

yeah the email one is particularly bad. I hate when people filter + (a plus sign) out of the username portion of the email. It's perfectly valid, in fact gmail uses it to great effect.
