A Fresh Cup is Mike Gunderloy's software development weblog, covering Ruby on Rails and whatever else I find interesting in the universe of software. I'm a full-time software developer: most of my time in recent years has been spent writing Rails, though I've dabbled in many other things and like most people who have been writing code for decades I can learn new stuff as needed.

As of July 2016, I'm looking for my next job. I'm not able to relocate, so unless you're in the Evansville area, I'd need a completely remote gig. I have lots of experience working remote. Prefer full-time but I wouldn't be averse to an interesting contact gig. Drop me a comment if you've got something or email MikeG1 [at] larkfarm.com.

Double Shot #1087

  • JS Git - Kickstarter to build a JavaScript library that speaks git - an essential part of spinning up a dev environment for something like a Chromebook.
  • Intro.js - Spiffy looking library for feature introduction and step by step website overlay.
  • Learn Sublime Text line bubbling in 2 minutes - This came along on precisely the day when I needed it. Rearranging code lines has never been so easy.
  • httpstatus.es - A helpful guide to all the HTTP status codes.
  • What's new in Sinatra 1.4? - New features, new fun.
  • EditorConfig - File format and plugins to make it easier to configure multiple text editors and IDEs for the same coding style.
  • OverAPI.com - Massive collection of programming (and other) cheat sheets.
  • The State of Ruby Web Application Servers - A fine roundup hidden in a Stack Overflow answer.
  • Heroku.json - Create a Heroku app with addons and settings taken from a json description file.
