Just a minor correction. The :dependent => :restrict construct itself is not deprecated, just the fact that it would raises an exception currently. For e.g.


class Post < AR::Base
has_many :comments, :dependent => :restrict # prevent destruction of post with comments
end


If you called @post_with_comments.destroy, this currently raises an Exception that you need to rescue from in your controller. With the new change, this will simply add an error message on base and not raise an exception allowing you to handle the destroy in an easy "if" construct and show other before_destroy validation errors to be handled consistently.

:dependent => :restrict is still there and still important.
