Delivered another reasonably major feature today. Things are still going well on the Rails front.
- ActiveCouch - A Ruby Wrapper for CouchDB - Yet another thing to learn if I had unlimited time.
- ‘IP’ Police Line - Do Not Cross - Intellectual property shenanigans from IBM. Shame on Pearson for publishing a programming book that explicitly refuses the use of the techniques it covers.
- mephisto 0.8 is out! - New release of this Rails-based blogging software.
- Restful Authentication with all the bells and whistles - Comprehensive tutorial using Rails 2.0.2.
The sites I’ve been working on in Rails are slowly going live. Not sure whether this means I’m going to have more free hours after next month, but I’m always on the lookout for new opportunities. Meanwhile, a few more links.
- Free Rails PDF: Only 3 Days To Go! - The PDF of Patrick Lenz’s intro Rails book is worth grabbing if you haven’t already.
- How to turn your rails site into an OAuth Provider - This looks like an area in flux but it’s coming along.
- RSS feed being reset every time I edit something - Well, someone else is having the same issue with Mephisto’s RSS that I am. Not that that helps solve the problem.
Paul Ingles’ Relative Dates with Scribbish in Mephisto proved to be just the tweak I needed for now. Thanks!
It’s nice to see this Mephisto Theme Gallery (via HappyCodr)
As you’ve probably noticed, things have changed around here. I’ve migrated the site from ozimodo to Mephisto . While the new software does look much spiffier, the main driver for this was simple: Mephisto supports comments out of the box. I’ve been getting a rather surprising (to me, at least) amount of e-mail over my postings on this site. Now you folks can play along right here and everyone can benefit from the back-and-forth. At least, that’s the plan.
